We are all searching for answers, together we may find them!
In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life. It goes on!
Robert Frost
This web site was created for wives, families and caregivers of Veterans. Its purpose is to share our feelings, our concerns, our ideas, and our care-giving secrets and support each other.
This is for those who have been there, done that, and for those just getting started. We spend our allotted 25 hours a day being tied in various types of knots.
BY BECOMING UNITED, WE BECOME UNTIED!
Good Morning,
This is GOD!
I will be handling all your problems today. I will not need your help. So, have a good day!
We are the Partners of Special People.
We are the Proud, the Elite, a part of the Fighting Unit With the Special People we will love for the rest of our lives. The road we travel with these Special People Is a winding road filled with many obstacles. Each mountain we move, each pothole we fill, Makes the going smoother for us and our Special People. We are not the first to travel this road. We won't be the last. Coming together as a unit, with each Partner using their own special talent, Will make our efforts seem easier. By banding together, the Partners of Special People can leave Hard packed ground so those behind us won't have it so rough.
There are times when life knocks you to your knees so, while you're there try:
PRAYER
SERENITY PRAYER
GOD, grant me the
SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change, COURAGE to change the things I can, And the WISDOM to know the difference.
GOD, give us grace to accept with
SERENITY the things that cannot be changed, COURAGE to change the things which should be changed, And the WISDOM to distinguish the one from the other.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as HE did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that HE will make all things right if I surrender to HIS Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with HIM Forever in the next.
Amen
DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
We, the Care-givers of Veterans, and their families, do declare our independence for the worries and work, the heartaches and hurts and the loss of our rights to our own time for ourselves. Therefore, we declare our rights as individuals in the Family of a Veteran.
OUR FREEDOMS
WE have the freedom to be totally self-centered for at least thirty minutes out of every twenty-four hours.
WE have the freedom to cry when we hurt, to laugh when we are happy and otherwise show our true feelings.
WE have the freedom to sneak extra moments of free time into the twenty-four hours.
OUR RIGHTS
WE have the right to remain silent, if we want to. SILENCE IS GOLDEN!
Anything WE say can not be used against us at a later date. WE may and will apologize later.
WE
have the right to have a friend or another family member present in time of crisis. Burdens shared are burdens lightened.
WE
have the right to scream and run around in circles to relieve the pressures of daily living. Letting the pressure off periodically keeps major explosions to a minimum.
WE
have the right to communicate with each other as needed. Sometimes just having someone listen, with no comments, is all the help we need.
WE
have the right to expect to have questions and concerns addressed in as timely manner as possible. After all, we are in this together and we have the same questions and concerns.
